Diversidad de ácaros en la finca “Las Piedras”, Guanabacoa, La Habana, Cuba

In order to determine the diversity of mites in the farm “Las Piedras”, Guanabacoa municipality, Havana Province, Cuba, periodic sampling was carried out between June 2018 and April 2019. In each sampling, 100 simple leaves per plant species were selected, which were examined under a stereoscopic microscope (Carl ZeissTM, StemiTM DV4 model), and the adult mites were clarified and mounted on slides. The corresponding taxonomic keys were used for their identification. The relative abundance and frequency of each species were calculated, the species accumulation curve was made by the Clench equation and the ecological indices by types of ecosystem were calculated. As a result of the inventory, nine families of mites were detected; two of them were phytophagous mites (Tarsonemidae and Tetranychidae), four of predatory mites (Bdellidae, Cunaxidae, Stigmaeidae and Phytoseiidae) and three of mites with varied feeding habits (Acaridae, Tydeidae and Oppidae). The parameters and values estimated by the Clench species accumulation model indicated that the inventory results were reliable. A differential behavior was observed in the relative abundance and frequency of the phytoseid mite species as a function of the management of the ecosystems. The species I. quadripilis were very abundant and very frequent in the undisturbed ecosystem, while E. hibisci and Agistemus sp., were very abundant and frequent in the little disturbed ecosystem. The little disturbed ecosystem, represented by the fruit species, was the most diverse. Among the detected species, I. quadripilis and E. hisbisci stood out for presenting the greatest possibilities of use as biological control agents of harmful organisms in the farm "Las Piedras". This knowledge will make possible to establish the most favorable agroecosystem management practices for the conservation of these important natural enemies.Con el objetivo de determinar la diversidad de ácaros en la Finca “Las Piedras”, Guanabacoa, La Habana, Cuba, se realizaron muestreos periódicos entre junio de 2018 y abril de 2019. En cada muestreo se seleccionaron 100 hojas simples por especie de planta, las que se revisaron bajo un microscopio estereoscópico (Carl ZeissTM, modelo StemiTM DV4) y los ácaros adultos se clarificaron y se montaron en portaobjetos. Para su identificación se emplearon las claves taxonómicas correspondientes. Se calcularon la abundancia y la frecuencia relativas de cada especie, se confección la curva de acumulación de especies por la ecuación de Clench y se determinaron los índices ecológicos por tipo de ecosistema. Se encontraron nueve familias de ácaros; de ellas, dos de ácaros fitófagos (Tarsonemidae y Tetranychidae), cuatro de ácaros depredadores (Bdellidae, Cunaxidae, Stigmaeidae y Phytoseiidae) y tres de ácaros con hábitos alimentarios variados (Acaridae, Tydeidae y Oppidae). Los parámetros y valores estimados por la ecuación de acumulación de especies de Clench indicaron que los resultados del inventario fueron fiables. Se observó un comportamiento diferencial en la abundancia y frecuencia relativa de las especies de ácaros en función del manejo de los ecosistemas. Las especies I. quadripilis fue muy abundante y muy frecuente en el ecosistema no perturbado, mientras que, en el ecosistema poco perturbado, E. hibisci y Agistemus sp. fueron muy abundantes y frecuentes. El ecosistema poco perturbado, representado por las especies frutales, fue el más diverso. Las especies I. quadripilis y E. hisbisci se destacan entre las especies detectadas por presentar las mayores posibilidades de uso como agentes de control biológico de organismos nocivos en la finca “Las Piedras”. Este conocimiento posibilitará establecer las prácticas de manejo del agroecosistema más favorable para la conservación de estos importantes enemigos naturales
